Volunteering for Seeing Eye Dogs Australia

volunteer site-ezy.com.au

Our Volunteer Programmes in Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland provide us with a valuable resource enabling us to further develop and expand.

** We urgently need puppy carers to care for Seeing Eye Dog pups for a 12 month period.  Food, bedding, toys and medical is taken care of by SEDA, so it's a great way to look after a pup and give something back to the community, by training a pup to be the eyes of the future for someone who is blind or vision impaired. Please email our Puppy Development Supervisor in Perth for further information:  Shelly - Shelley.Palmerboyd@seda.org.au

Volunteers can assist us in areas such as Community Education including talks at schools and to groups.  These visits are vital to our future and if we have the commitment of volunteers, we will be able to expand this initiative and talk to more people about what we do and the importance of our services.

In Victoria, volunteers can also assist in running tours through our headquarters which will give our guests a first hand overview of our Breeding Centre, how our dogs are trained and the opportunity to observe working Seeing Eye Dogs.

We also need assistance with our Shopping Centre promotions and seek help in manning our stand with the help of our wonderful Puppy Carers.

For those volunteers who don’t mind a bit of physical work, we have times available in our Kennel area in Melbourne where help is sought for cleaning, grooming, bathing and cooking meals for our trainee dogs and pups.

We are also always looking for puppy carers in Victoria, Queensland & Western Australia to care for our pups in training for around a 12 month period.

Our Volunteer Programme is very important to us and we hope that you will consider joining us so our work can continue to grow.

Please contact Margot Bretherton on 03 9381 6400 if you are in Melbourne or Peter Evans on 07 3255 2877 in Brisbane.
